What is DjVu?
DjVu is a powerful compression technology created by LizardTech, a Celartem Company. DjVu allows us to make scanned documents available over the web quickly and efficiently as we can take a 24MB scanned page and typically reduce it in size to under 50KB. To view DjVu files you will need to download a free plug-in for your web browser from the LizardTech website at www.lizardtech.com.

How Can I Save a DjVu File to my PC?
When you are viewing a DjVu File, there is a small icon that allows you to save the document to your computer.
Click the icon of a floppy disk and you will be presented with a window that gives you a choice as to how you want to save the document: as a bundled (a single multi-page file) or indirect (a directory containing many single-page DjVu files). If you are on broadband, the bundled option is likely to be your best option. If you are accessing the document on a slow network connection or during times of high traffic, the indirect option will be the best.

Note that once downloaded to your PC you can open the DjVu and save it in the alternative format simply by re-saving it.
What is a "Bundled" or "Direct" DjVu File?
DjVu allows you to save multi-page documents in one of two formats. In a bundled format, all pages are downloaded and stored within a single DjVu file. As a scanned document may comprise several megabytes, saving your DjVu pages in a bundled format is best when you have a fast connection to the Internet. Note that once downloaded to your PC you can open the DjVu and save it in the alternative format simply by re-saving it.
What is an "Unbundled" or "Indirect" DjVu File?
DjVu allows you to save multi-page documents in one of two formats. In an indirect format, each page of the document is downloaded as a separated DjVu file and stored within a directory structure. This method of download is preferred if you have a slow network connection of if the load on the server is unexpectedly high. Note that once downloaded to your PC you can open the DjVu and save it in the alternative format simply by re-saving it.
What is my Personal Library?
When you purchase a paper, you are essentially purchasing online access to that paper for a specific period of time (currently 14 days). During that time, the document appears in your personal library where you can either view it online or save it to your computer. When this time interval has passed, the document will be removed from your personal library. If you have not saved a copy to your computer by then, you will need to re-purchase the paper if you need to view it again.
How do I get back to ProfDocs when Viewing a DJVu document?
Just click the back button on your browser.
How is GST determined?
For credit purchases made within Australia, a Goods and Services Tax of 10% is collected. We determine whether GST is applicable by checking the IP address of the client computer with a country database. IP's associated with a country are subject to change and although we attempt to keep our database as up to date as possible, certain IP ranges may be incorrectly assigned. If you believe that you are being charged GST in error then please let us know at support@profdocs.com as soon as possible.
